Baker Design Group is a small, tight-knit group of design professionals with over 112 years’ collective experience in the industry. Passionate and unassuming in our approach to architecture, we view each invitation to design as our sole priority.

We began in 1989 as Winter Architects. Dan Winter was founder, President and Principal Architect. Rick Cline was employee No. 1 as a graduate architect. Rodger Baker joined the company in 1994 as a graduate architect and served under Dan in a variety of roles until 2019 when Dan Winter stepped down from daily operations and prepared for retirement at which time Rodger Baker became President. In 2022 Rodger W Baker AIA NCARB purchased Dan Winter Architect/Baker Design LLC and formed Baker Design Group, PA. Rodger continued with Dan’s legacy of loyal clients, dedicated engineering partners, and career staff members.

The group was given many opportunities to work with franchises in the restaurant and retail industry starting with Pizza Hut and then LoneStar Steakhouse and Saloon, Subway, Freddy’s Frozen Custard, and many others to follow. This has included over 700 buildings across America. There have also been other opportunities to design for commercial, residential, and industrial operations as well. We have been fortunate.
